Teen Hospitalized After Being Struck By Gunfire Friday Afternoon

PATERSON, NJ.- Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting that occurred Friday afternoon, leaving a 16-year-old teen hospitalized from gunshot wounds, as gun violence continues to plague the streets in the City of Paterson.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Friday, January 10, 2025, shortly after 5:00 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a report of a shooting with injuries in the area of Market and East 19th Street in the City of Paterson.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 16-year-old juvenile suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The teen was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. The teen’s condition is unknown at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing as Detectives continue their search for the shooter and a motive for the shooting.
