Metropolitan Police Asking For Public’s Assistance Locating Suspect

WASHINGTON, DC.- The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying and locating the suspect wanted in connection with Wednesday’s violent assault and gunpoint robbery of multiple individuals in Southeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, just minutes before 5:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Southeast District responded to a report of an armed robbery and assault on the 3200 Block of Minnesota Avenue in Southeast, D.C.

Suspect Pulls Out Handgun

     Upon arrival, Police Officers were informed by the victims that while they were in the rear of a building in the 3200 Block of Minnesota Avenue, they were approached by a suspect who pulled out a handgun, assaulted one of them, and robbed them of their money and property at gunpoint. After the robbery, the suspect fled the area on foot.

     During the ensuing investigation, Detectives recovered nearby video surveillance footage, which captured the suspect and can be seen in the above video.
