Police Continuing The Investigation Into Monday’s Northeast Fatal Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Monday night, a 27-year-old man tragically became the latest victim to fall prey to the neverending gun violence plaguing the streets of the nation’s capital city after he was fatally gunned down in Northeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Monday, January 13, 2025, shortly after 6:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to a report of gunfire on the 4500 Block of Quarles Street in Northeast, D.C.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Landen Mayo, 27, of Southeast, D.C., on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Mr. Mayo was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving measures, Mr. Mayo succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
