Douglas Man Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography Offenses

BOSTON, MA.- A 34-year-old Douglas, Massachusetts, man and a registered sex offender is potentially facing spending the next two decades in federal prison and paying nearly a quarter of a million dollars in fines after pleading guilty today in federal court to child pornography charges.

     On Friday, January 24, 2025, Corey Bouchard, 34, of Douglas, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Margaret R. Guzman to a one-count information charging him with Accessing with Intent to View Child Pornography.

     After entering his guilty plea today, Judge Guzman scheduled sentencing for May 7, 2025. Bouchard faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years and up to 20 years in federal prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and $272,100 in fines and special assessments. At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Bouchard’s prior criminal history.

According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office

     According to U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley and charging information filed with the District Court, In November 2023, during a search of Bouchard’s Douglas, Massachusetts residence, federal investigators found a cache file on Bouchard’s cellular phone, which contained around 72 video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent and pubescent children.

     The file names listed on approximately 56 video files matched those shared by others in the Kik messenger group chat rooms that Bouchard was in.

     During today’s plea allocution, Bouchard admitted to accessing the internet with the intent to view child pornography. Bouchard has a prior state criminal conviction for possession of child pornography and is a registered sex offender in the national database.
