Moundsville Man Heading To Prison For Role In Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

WHEELING, W.VA.- On Tuesday, a 48-year-old Moundsville, West Virginia, man learned he would be spending over 5 years in federal prison for his role in a drug trafficking organization that distributed large quantities of methamphetamine throughout the Northern District of West Virginia.
On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, KC Vanover, 48, of Moundsville, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge John Preston Bailey to 63 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea of Conspiring to Possess with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.6
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Bernard and charging documents filed with the District Court, Vanover worked with others in a drug trafficking operation that distributed hundreds of grams of methamphetamine in Marshall County and surrounding communities within the Northern District of West Virginia.
The drug trafficking organization’s source for the methamphetamine was in Georgia.
In handing down the sentence on Tuesday, Judge Bailey noted Vanover’s prior criminal history, which includes felony convictions for grand larceny and battery.
