Detectives Charge Teen In November’s Southeast Armed Robbery

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Thursday, the Metropolitan Police Department arrested and charged a 16-year-old boy in connection with an armed robbery that occurred during the afternoon hours on November 2, 2024, in Southeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at around 2:45 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Southeast District responded to a report of an armed robbery on the 4200 Block of 4th Street in Southeast, D.C.
Upon arrival, Responding Officers were informed by the victim that they had arranged to meet the suspect on 4th Street to sell an item. During the meeting, the suspect pulled out a handgun and stole the item and the victim’s other personal belongings. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
Following an investigation, D.C. Metropolitan Police Detectives were able to identify the suspect as a 16-year-old Southeast, D.C. boy, and on Thursday, January 30, 2025, Police Officers located and arrested the teen pursuant to a District of Columbia Superior Court custody order and formally charged the teen with Armed Robbery.
The teen was processed on the charge and was released to a guardian pending future court proceedings in the District of Columbia Superior Court Family Divison.
