Palmer Township Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Bergen County Preteen

HAWORTH, NJ.- Following an investigation, on Friday, Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested and charged Andrew Wolke, 53, of Palmer Township, Pennsylvania man, in connection with sexually assaulting a preteen in 2023.

     Wolke was served with the charges in the Northampton County Prison, where he is currently being detained in Pennsylvania after he was charged in late November 2024 for allegedly inappropriate sexual contact with a foreign exchange student who was living in his Palmer Township home and arson charges.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on November 26, 2024, the Haworth Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault that had occurred in the past.

Investigation Uncovers Alleged Sexual Assault

     An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Haworth Police Department were able to determine that Wolke allegedly sexually assaulted a child who was under the age of thirteen in April 2023 in Haworth, New Jersey.

     Accordingly, on Friday, January 31, 2025, Wolke was formally charged with two counts of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; and third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Wolke was processed on the charges and will face extradition to New Jersey upon resolution of the Pennsylvania charges.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
