Police Actively Investigating Early Tuesday Morning Shooting Death

WASHINGTON, DC.- Police are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 22-year-old Northeast, D.C. man after gunfire erupted just minutes after midnight on Tuesday on 16th Street in Northwest, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, shortly after 12:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District responded to the 3100 Block of 16th Street in Northwest, D.C., after hearing gunfire in the area.
Police Find Northeast, D.C. Man Shot Dead
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as E’Zell Hill, 22, of Northeast, D.C., unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and pronounced Mr. Hill deceased at the scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
