Maryland Man Fatally Gunned Down Tuesday Morning In Southeast, D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- A 19-year-old Rockville, Maryland, man became the second victim within eight hours to fall prey to gun violence in the Nation’s Capital City after he was fatally gunned down Tuesday morning on Congress Street in Southeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, shortly after 8:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to a report of an unconscious person on the 1300 Block of Congress Street in Southeast, D.C.

Police Find Maryland Man Shot Dead

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Khamani Hicks, 19, of Rockville, Maryland, unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. DC. Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, and despite life-saving measures, Mr. Hicks was pronounced deceased at the scene.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
