BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ.- On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Robert Lasher, 71, of Brick Township, New Jersey, appeared in Ocean County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Linda G. Baxter to Possession of Child Pornography.
Following the entry of his guilty plea, Judge Baxter accepted the plea and deferred sentencing for a time and date to be determined by the court. In return for the guilty plea, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Lasher be sentenced to 364 days in the Ocean County Jail and parole supervision for life.
The guilty plea stems from an investigation that began when the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force contacted the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit after receiving CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an individual located in Ocean County, New Jersey, was utilizing the internet to upload digital images of the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
Detectives Were Able To Identify Lasher
During the ensuing investigation, Detectives were able to identify an IP address associated with a residence in Brick Township where Lasher resided.
On July 2, 2024, local, state, and federal investigators executed a court-authorized search warrant at Lasher’s residence. During the search, investigators seized numerous electronic devices. An initial forensic examination of the devices uncovered several digital images of the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent and pubescent children.
At that time, Lasher was taken into custody and formally charged. Following being processed on the charges, Lasher was remanded to the Ocean County Jail, and following his first appearance, a Superior Court Judge released Lasher on bail monitoring conditions.
