Police Charge Maryland Man In March 2024, Southeast Armed Carjacking

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Last Thursday, a 22-year-old Bryans Road, Maryland, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with an armed carjacking that took place on March of 2024, in Southeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, March 22, 2024, shortly after 3:15 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s First District responded to a report of an armed carjacking on the 3900 Block of 1st Street in Southeast, D.C.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers were informed by the victim that while the victim and the suspect were seated in the victim’s vehicle, the suspect pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the victim, and demanded that he exit the vehicle. The victim complied and quickly exited his vehicle, and the suspect fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

     Based on the investigation, on Thursday, January 30, 2025, pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court warrant, the suspect, Miquel Beasley, 22, of Bryans Road, Maryland, was located and taken into custody. Accordingly, Beasley was charged with Armed Carjacking; and Failure to Appear.

     Beasley was processed on the charges and remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility, pending future court proceedings in the District of Columbia Superior Court.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
