Scranton Man Charged With Production & Possession Of Child Pornography

SCRANTON, PA.- On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, a Federal Grand Jury for the Middle District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment charging Anthony Clyde Hoffman, 29, of Scranton, Pennsylvania, with one count of Production of Child Pornography; and one count of Possession of Child Pornography.
According to Acting U.S. Attorney John C. Gurganus and charging information unsealed in the indictment, it has been alleged that during an ongoing federal, state, and local internet child pornography investigation, law enforcement investigators obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant at Hoffman’s Scranton home.
Hoffman Used A Toddler To Produce Child Pornography
During the search, investigators seized electronic devices and uncovered 800 digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent and pubescent children. Additionally, a subsequent forensic examination of the electronic devices discovered that in May 2024, Hoffman had produced digital images of the sexual exploitation of a toddler with his cellular phone.
If convicted on the charges, Hoffman faces up to 50 years in federal prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a $500,000 fine, or both.
   The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
“The rules of the federal court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
