Bridgeton Man Charged With Sex Trafficking Operation

BRIDGETON, NJ.- On Saturday, February 8, 2025, following an investigation, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies arrested and charged Moises Rodriquez-Martinez, 37, of East Avenue in the City of Bridgeton, New Jersey, in connection with sex trafficking women for the purpose of prostitution.

     According to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae, Rodriguez-Martinez, after being taken into custody, was formally charged with first-degree Human Trafficking; first-degree Promoting Organized Street Crime; and third-degree Promoting Prostitution. Following further investigation, on Monday, February 10, 2025, Rodriguez-Martinez was charged with an additional count of first-degree Human Trafficking.

     Following his arrest and after being processed on the initial charges on Saturday, Rodriguez-Martinez was remanded to the Cumberland County Jail, pending future court proceedings in Cumberland County Superior Court. The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion to detain Rodriguez-Martinez pending trial.

Investigation Leads To Arrest And Charges

     The arrest and charges are a result of a month-long investigation into prostitution activities being conducted out of a Bridgeton, New Jersey, residence. During the investigation, Detectives allege that Rodriguez-Martinez was organizing and overseeing a human trafficking operation by operating a brothel. It is alleged that two women over the age of 18 were kept inside an East Avenue residence for the purpose of engaging in the commercial sex trade. It is further alleged that the women were trafficked from Queens, New York, to Bridgeton, New Jersey, to perform paid sex acts.

     Prosecutor Webb-McRae said, “Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery which involves the exploitation of individuals to gain labor, services, or commercial sex acts against their will.
