Man Shot & Killed Inside His Vehicle Thursday Night In Trenton, New Jersey

TRENTON, NJ.- Mercer County authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 25-year-old Trenton, New Jersey, man who was found shot inside his sport utility vehicle Thursday night in the City of Trenton.
According to Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, shortly before 9:30 p.m., members of the Trenton Police Department responded to a multiple-round ShotSpotter activation in the area of Dayton and Grand Streets in the City of Trenton.
Police Officers Find Mr. Romero Shot Inside His Car
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a White Toyota 4Runner in the middle of the roadway on the 300 Block of Dayton Street. Inside the vehicle, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Wilmer Eliu Vidal Romero, 25, of Trenton, New Jersey, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Police Officers immediately provided life-saving measures until Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene.
Mr. Romero was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Romero tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives of the Mercer County Homicide Task Force continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
