Baltimore, Maryland Man Fatally Gunned Down Tuesday Morning

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is continuing the investigation into the shooting death of a 39-year-old Baltimore, Maryland, man who was fatally gunned down Tuesday morning on a Southeast, D.C. street.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, shortly around 11:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to reports of gunfire on the 3000 Block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue in Southeast, D.C.
Police Find Maryland Man Shot Dead
Upon arrival, Police Officers and First Responders found a man, later identified as Derrick Howard, 39, of Baltimore, Maryland, unresponsive from a fatal gunshot wound. Mr. Howard was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by DC. Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
