Woman Found Dead Inside Dumpster Saturday Morning In Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the horrific beating and strangulation death of a 62-year-old woman, whose lifeless body was found Saturday morning inside a dumpster in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, April 19, 2025, just shortly after 8:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an unresponsive woman on the 1600 Block of Maryland Avenue in Northeast, D.C.
Police Find Woman Dead In Platic Container In Dumpster
Upon arrival, Police Officers found the lifeless body of Donella Bryan, 62, of Northeast, D.C., inside a plastic bin in a dumpster. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and pronounced Ms. Bryan deceased at the scene.
On Sunday, April 20, 2025, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy and ruled the Cause of Ms. Bryan’s Death to be Blunt Force Trauma and Asphyxiation and the Manner of Death to be Homicide.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detetectives continue their search for the suspect or suspects and a motive for the killing.
