NEWARK, NJ.- On Monday, April 21, 2025, Timothy Alan Blank, 55, of Los Angeles, California, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Evelyn Padin to 100 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for his guilty plea to a federal narcotics violation.

Blank previously appeared before Judge Blank in Federal Court in Newark, New Jersey and pleaded guilty to a federal indictment charing him with one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Fentanyl.

According to U.S. Attorney Alina Habba and charging information filed with the District Court, on March 6, 2024, Blank transported just around five kilograms of fentanyl in his vehicle from Los Angeles, California across the United States into the District of New Jersey.

After Arriving In New Jersey, Blank Was Taken Into Custody

On March 8, 2024, after arriving in New Jersey, Blank’s vehicle was stopped by federal, state, and local law enforcement agents in Fort Lee, New Jersey. During a subsequent court-authorized search of Blank’s vehicle, federal agents found the five kilograms of fentanyl inside the trunk area of his vehicle. Following being taken into custody, Blank admitted to federal agents he had intended to distribute the fentanyl within the District of New Jersey.

U.S. Attorney Habba commended the investigative work of Homeland Security Investigations, Customs and Border Protection’s Air and Marine Operations, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, the Fort Lee Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Los Angeles Field Office, which led to the successful prosecution of Blank.
