
35-YEAR-OLD JERSEY CITY MAN INDICTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE DEATH OF A LINDENWOLD WOMAN

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported, that on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, a Grand Jury sitting in Hudson County, New Jersey Returned an Indictment against Gregory Mallard, 35, of Jersey City, New Jersey, in connection with The Death of Norelis Mendoza, 32, of Lindenwold, New Jersey, who was found Deceased in Bayonne on May 17, 2023.
The Grand Jury Returned the Indictment, Charging Mr. Mallard with First Degree Murder; Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, a Vehicle; Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, a Vehicle; Third Degree Failing to Dispose of Human Remains as Prescribed by Law; Second Degree Desecration of Human Remains; Third Degree Hindering Apprehension; and Fourth Degree Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Mr. Mallard’s Arraignment on The Indictment has been Scheduled for Monday, February 12, 2024, in Hudson County Superior Court.
According to The Prosecutor’s Office, on Sunday, May 14, 2023, The Jersey City Police Department received a Missing Person Report for a 32-Year-Old Lindenwold, New Jersey Woman who was last seen in Jersey City on Saturday, May 13, 2023. During the course of the investigation, The Hudson County Homicide Unit with assistance from The Jersey City Police Department, The Bayonne Police Department, and The New Jersey State Police found The Lifeless Body of a woman, later identified as Norelis Mendoza, 32, of Lindenwold, off of Route 440 near The Jersey City Border on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Ms. Mendoza was pronounced deceased at the scene.
