Enfield Man Sentenced For Possessing & Producing Child Pornography

BRIDGEPORT, CT.- On Tuesday, a 35-year-old Enfield, Connecticut, man and convicted child predator learned he would be just 2 years shy of collecting social security after he was sentenced to two and half decades in federal prison for sexually abusing two young children so he could produce child pornography and possessing over 1,000 digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Katrell Johnson, 35, of Enfield, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Stefan R. Underhill to 300 months in federal prison, to be followed by ten years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty pleas to child pornography offenses.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney Marc H. Silverman, Johnson has remained in custody since his July 13, 2023 arrest. On February 14, 2024, Johnson appeared in Federal Court in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and pleaded guilty to two counts of Production of Child Pornography; and one count of Possession of Child Pornography.
According to documents filed with the District Court, in April and May 2023, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received CyberTips from Google and WhatsApp accounts, which were subsequently linked to Johnson had been utilized to upload digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children. During a subsequent court-authorized search of Johnson’s two Google accounts uncovered around 1,500 digital images and video files depicting the sexual abuse by adults of prepubescent children.
Further forensic examination uncovered additional digital images that Johnson created of two young children he had sexually abused.
