Hackensack Man Charged With Child Luring & Endangerment

LODI, NJ.- Last Saturday, a 21-year-old Hackensack, New Jersey, man is facing up to ten years in prison after being taken into custody and charged in connection with luring a teen girl who he met on a social media platform and then exposing himself to the child.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, members of the Lodi Police Department contacted Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit after receiving a report of the alleged luring of a teen girl.

Detectives Determine Child Sex Crimes Were Committed

     Following a swift-moving investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in conjunction with the Lodi Police Department, it was determined that Erick Nunez, 21, of Hackensack, New Jersey, engaged with a child under the age of sixteen on a social media and video chat platform “Monkey,” as well as “Instagram.” During the video chats, Nunez enticed and lured the child to meet with him in Lodi, New Jersey.

     Further investigation uncovered that Nunez drove from Hackensack to Lodi and picked the child up. At that time, Nunez committed an act of lewdness and endangered the child inside his vehicle.

     Accordingly, On Saturday, February 15, 2025, Nunez was apprehended in Lodi, New Jersey, and was formally charged with second-degree Luring; third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and a Disorderly Persons Offense of Lewdness. Nunez was processed on the charge and has been released pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.

     If convicted on the charges, Nunez faces up to ten years in New Jersey State Prison, up to a lifetime of parole supervision, and Megan’s Law restraints.
