Barnegat Township Man Has Been Charged With Child Pornography

BARNEGAT, NJ.- Following an investigation, on Thursday, February 20, 2025, a 27-year-old Barnegat Township, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged with possessing digital images and or video files depicting the sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children.
According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, the arrest is a result of an investigation that began when the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force contacted Detectives of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office after the State Police received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an individual in the Ocean County, New Jersey area was utilizing an internet application to view, upload, and possess child pornography.
Detectives Identify Lugo As The Perpetrator
During a subsequent investigation, Detectives were able to identify an IP address associated with a Barnegat Township residence and further identified Fabian Lugo, 27, of Barnegat Township, as the individual who was uploading child pornography.
On Thursday, February 20, 2025, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies executed a court-authorized search warrant at Lugo’s residence. During the search, Detectives seized multiple electronic devices. During an initial examination of the devices, Detectives discovered numerous digital images depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
After the discovery of the digital images, Lugo was taken into custody at the Barnegat Township Police Department and formally charged with Possession of Child Pornography. Following being processed on the charge, Lugo was remanded to the Ocean County Jail, pending future court proceedings in Ocean County Superior Court in Toms River, New Jersey.
