WASHINGTON, DC.- On Friday, a 34-year-old Northwest, D.C., man wanted in connection with last month’s domestic violence fatal shooting was taken into custody and jailed after being charged with second-degree murder.

According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Thursday, January 16, 2025, shortly after 2:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Second District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a shooting on the Unit Block of Ridge Square in Northwest, D.C.

Police Officers Find Man Shot Dead And Woman Injured

Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Terell Cortez West of Northwest, D.C., inside an apartment, having succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the apartment and pronounced Mr. West deceased.
