Bergen County Woman Charged In Prostitution Sting

Fairview Woman Charged For Running Illicit Massage Parlor In Denville

DENVILLE, NJ.- Last Thursday, following an investigation into an illicit massage parlor operating in Denville, New Jersey, a 63-year-old Fairview, New Jersey, woman and a 67-year-old Flushing, New York, man were taken into custody and charged with prostitution and money laundering offenses.

     According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, during the investigation, Detectives determined that Soon Y. Bang, also known as “Cindy,” 63, of Fairview, New Jersey, is the owner of the Oasis Spa, located on Route 10 West in Denville, New Jersey. It has been alleged that Bang engaged in the commercial sex trade in return for financial compensation from within the massage business.

Police And Federal Agents Execute Search Warrants

     On Thursday, February 20, 2025, members of the Denville Police Department, with assistance from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and federal agents of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, executed court-authorized search warrants at the Oasis Spa and Bang’s Fairview, New Jersey residence. During the search, Detectives uncovered large sums of U.S. currency in denominations consistent with acts of prostitution.

     Accordingly, on Thursday, Bang was formally charged with third-degree Promoting Prostitution; second-degree Money Laundering; and a disorderly persons offense of Engaging in Prostitution. In addition, Yushun Li, 67, of Flushing, New York, was formally charged with a disorderly persons offense of Engaging in Prostitution.

     Bang and Li were processed on the charges and were released on a summons complaint pending future court proceedings in Morris County Superior Court in Morristown, New Jersey.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
