MARTINSBURG, W. VA.- A 47-year-old Harpers Ferry, West Virginia man, and convicted felon will be spending nearly the next six years in federal prison for receiving cocaine through the mail.

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Jamie Green, 47, of Harpers Ferry, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Gina M. Groh to 70 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute and the Distribution of Cocaine.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle Kane and charging documents filed with the District Court, the United States Postal Inspection Service intercepted a package mailed from Los Angeles addressed to Green’s Jefferson County residence. After intercepting the package, investigators conducted a court-authorized search of the package and uncovered more than two pounds of cocaine.

Investigators Conduct Controlled Delivery

Following the discovery of the cocaine, investigators replaced the illicit narcotic with a facsimile substance and conducted a controlled delivery to Green’s Harpers Ferry address. Upon accepting the package, Green was immediately arrested at his home.

Acting U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Bernard commended the investigative work of the U.S. Postal Investigations Service, the West Virginia State Police, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, which led to the successful prosecution of Green.
