Wednesday, March 5, 2025, 8:45 A.M. ET. 2 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds reported on Friday, February 28, 2025, that Gavin Guzman, 24, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and was sentenced to 25 years in New Jersey State Prison subject to the No Early Release Act, after pleading guilty to one count of first-degree Aggravated Manslaughter for the stabbing death of a 22-year-old man.

The guilty plea and sentence stem from an investigation that began on January 1, 2024, after members of the Atlantic City Police Department responded to the Atlantic City Boardwalk at Michigan Avenue after receiving a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, responding Police Officers found a young man, identified as Nazir Cintron, 22, on the beach ramp in front of Bally’s Casino; having succumbed to stab wounds, Mr. Cintron was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives Identify Guzman During Investigation

During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, in conjunction with the Atlantic City Police Department, reviewed surveillance footage from the Atlantic City Boardwalk. While reviewing the footage, Detectives observed a man in dark-colored clothing following Mr. Cintron along the Boardwalk, making eye contact with Mr. Cintron several times, and following him onto the Boardwalk ramp.

The man is then seen exiting the ramp less than two minutes later and walking onto Michigan Avenue. Surveillance footage tracked the man to the corner of Missouri and Atlantic Avenues, where he was observed removing a jacket and placing it in a trashcan on the sidewalk. Detectives removed the jacket as evidence, which appeared to have bloodstains on it.

Detectives were later able to identify Guzman as the man observed in the video footage, arresting him and formally charging him. On November 14, 2024, Guzman appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and pleaded guilty to the charge, admitting that he fatally stabbed Mr. Cintron on January 1, 2024.
