MOUNT LAUREL, NJ.- Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw reported a former Mount Laurel Police Officer has pleaded guilty in connection with hacking into social media accounts of multiple women and then distributing nude digital images they kept of themselves.

On Monday, March 3, 2025, Ayron Taylor, 25, of Moorestown, New Jersey, appeared in Burlington County Superior Court and pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree Computer Theft; and one count of second-degree Official Misconduct. In return for the guilty pleas, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Taylor be sentenced to 12 years in New Jersey State Prison. Sentencing has been scheduled for September 2025.

Woman Comes Forward After Her Social Media Accounts Are Hacked

The guilty pleas stem from an investigation that began in September 2022 after a woman reported to Evesham Township Police that her Snapchat and Facebook accounts had been hacked by an unknown individual who then sent nude digital images she had taken of herself to her Snapchat contacts, messaged them to her Facebook friends, and posted the photos on her Facebook profile page.

During the investigation, Detectives discovered that all the victims had a student email account through Rowan College at Burlington County. The investigation further determined that Taylor illegally accessed around 5,000 Rowan College email accounts. College officials fully cooperated during the course of the investigation.

The investigation ultimately identified Taylor as the perpetrator and that he engaged in the criminal activity from his own personal electronic devices while on duty as a patrol officer with the Mount Laurel Police Department. The Mount Laurel Police Department took immediate action to suspend him following the initial charges being filed. Taylor resigned after the Police Department began measures to terminate his employment.
