JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Friday, March 7, 2025, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that following an ongoing investigation, Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit have filed an additional Murder Charge against a 40-year-old Essex County, New Jersey man in connection with the murder of two Guttenberg, New Jersey men in late November of 2024.
Lamont Cole, 40, of East Orange, New Jersey, was initially charged with first-degree Murder in the death of Justo Bory, 87, of Guttenberg, New Jersey. Following a final autopsy report by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office issued on February 24, 2025, the findings determined that Ricardo Bory, 58, also of Guttenberg, New Jersey, died from Homicidal Violence and the Manner of Death Homicide. Cole now faces two counts of first-degree Murder.
The charges stem from an investigation that began on Saturday, November 23, 2025, when shortly after 10:00 p.m., members of the Guttenberg Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting two unconscious men being found inside a residence located on 71st Street in Guttenberg.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located the two men dead inside the residence. Both men were subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
Cole Was First Charged With Obstruction
During the initial investigation, Police Officers arrested Cole for interfering with the investigation. Cole has been detained in the Hudson County Correctional Facility since his initial arrest. Cole was charged with Murder on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, after the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that the Cause of Justo Bory’s Death was Compression of the Neck and the Manner of Death was Homicide.
