ASBURY PARK, NJ.- On Wednesday, a 23-year-old Millstone Township, New Jersey, man wanted in connection with a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on February 11, 2025, in Asbury Park, New Jersey, has been returned to New Jersey to stand trial in Monmouth County Superior Court in Freehold, New Jersey.

According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, Dominic Allen, 23, of Millstone Township, has been formally charged with second-degree Vehicular Homicide; and second-degree Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident.

The charges stem from an investigation that began on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, when shortly after 4:00 p.m., members of both the Neptune Township and Asbury Park Police Departments responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a person being struck by a motor vehicle on Stratford Avenue between Fisher and Myrtle Avenues in Asbury Park.

Upon arrival, Police Officers and First Responders found a man, later identified as Kyzair Robinson, 19, of Asbury Park, New Jersey, lying in the roadway, suffering from serious life-threatening injuries. Mr. Robinson was immediately transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Robinson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

During the ensuing investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Asbury Park Police Department, Detectives were able to identify Allen as the vehicle’s driver. Further investigation uncovered that Mr. Robinson was talking with Allen through the driver’s side window of the vehicle prior to Allen accelerating and driving off. Mr. Robinson clung to and then fell under the vehicle as Allen fled the scene.

Detectives learned that Allen not only fled the scene of the crash but also fled New Jersey. Detectives were able to locate Allen in Orlando, Florida, and he was later apprehended by members of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force. Allen was extradited to New Jersey and formally charged on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Following being processed on the charges, Allen was remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, pending future court proceedings in Monmouth County Superior Court.
