33-YEAR-OLD BERLIN MAN APPREHENDED IN PHILADELPHIA FOR THE TUESDAY SHOOTING OF A MAN OF A PINE HILL MAN

   “After Being Charged On Wednesday For The Attempted Murder Of A 36-Year-Old Pine Hill Man, Malcolm Jordan Was Taken Into Custody Friday.”

CAMDEN, NJ.- On Friday, February 16, 2024, a 33-Year-Old Berlin, New Jersey man was apprehended in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in connection with The February 13, 2024, Brazen Mid-Day Shooting of a 36-Year-Old Pine Hill, New Jersey man outside The Rutgers University Camden Campus.

     According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at around 2:00 p.m., Members of The Camden County Police Department responded to Cooper University Hospital after being notified that a Gunshot Victim had arrived at the Hospital. Upon arrival, Police Officer learned that a 36-Year-Old Pine Hill, New Jersey man had been dropped off at the Hospital suffering from Multiple Gunshot Wounds.

     During the Initial Investigation, Camden County Authorities determined that the Shooting occurred on The 300 Block of Lawrence Street, which runs through the Rutgers University- Camden Campus. Detectives found that both the Shooter and the Victim were not Students or affiliated with The University.

     On Wednesday, February 14, 2024, Detectives were able to Quickly Identify Malcolm Jordan, 33, of Berlin Borough, New Jersey as The Shooter, and a Warrant was Issued for his Arrest on Charges of First Degree Attempted Murder; Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; Second Degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons; and Fourth Degree Aggravated Assault by Pointing a Firearm.

     On Friday, February 16, 2024, Members of The U.S. Marshals Service New York, New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force were able to locate Mr. Jordan and with the assistance of The U.S. Marshals of Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force successfully Apprehended Mr. Jordan in Philadelphia. Mr. Jordan was Lodged in a Philadelphia Correctional Facility pending an Extradition Hearing.
