Burlington City Man Heading To Prison For Secretly Recording A Child

BURLINGTON CITY, NJ.- A 35-year-old Burlington City, New Jersey man will be spending the next four years in New Jersey State Prison for placing a hidden camera in a bathroom and recording an underage girl, to create digital images and video files of child pornography.
Last week, Joseph J. Stevenson, 35, of Burlington City, New Jersey, appeared in Burlington County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Aimee Belgard to four years in State Prison after pleading guilty last year to one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
According To The Prosecutor’s Office
According to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw, the guilty plea and sentence stem from an investigation that began when members of the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding Stevenson’s internet activities.
Following an investigation, Detectives arrested and charged Stevenson with child pornography offenses. The Prosecutor’s Office reported that additional details are being withheld to protect the identity and privacy of the victim in this case.
Burlington County Prosecutor Bradshaw commended the investigative work of the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, Cherry Hill Office, for the successful prosecution of Stevenson.
