Police Investigating Two Thursday Afternoon Incidents Of Gunfire

PATERSON, NJ.- Police are continuing the search for the suspect or suspects who opened fire just minutes apart Thursday afternoon in the City of Paterson.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Thursday, April 17, 2025, shortly before 4:30 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of 10th Avenue and East 23rd Street in the City of Paterson.
Upon arrival, Police Officers were able to locate evidence of a shooting crime scene but were unable to locate a victim. While on scene, and within two minutes, Police Officers were notified of a second report of gunfire in the area of 9th Avenue and East 28th Street in the City of Paterson. Additional Police Officers responded to the area and were able to locate a shooting crime scene but were unable to locate a victim.
Police Determine That No One Was Injured
During the initial investigations, and following checking with area hospitals, Police Officers determined that no one was struck by gunfire in either of the shootings.
The investigations remain active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue their investigations in to the circumstances surrounding both shootings.
