Woman Dead, Man Injured In East Park Shooting In The City Of Paterson

PATERSON, NJ.- Police are continuing the investigation into a shooting after a 21-year-old woman was fatally gunned down, and 24-year-old man remains hospitalized after gunfire erupted late Tuesday afternoon at East Side Park in the City of Paterson.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, just shortly before 6:00 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at East Side Park in the City of Paterson.
Police Were Notified Victims Arrived At Hospital
Upon arrival, Police Officers were unable to locate any victims. While on scene Police Officers were notified that a 21-year-old woman, and a 24-year-old man had arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, where despite life-saving efforts the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. The man was treated for his injuries and his condition is unknown at this time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
